Exactly the last one Xenoblade Chronicles 3, was released on July 29 and has positioned itself as one of the most successful releases of the Japanese Nintendo for this 2022. What are its good and not so good points? We tell you.
Let us first remember that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 It is a video game exclusive to the Switch, belongs to the role-playing genre and premiered on July 29. The Xenoblade saga is made up of six titlesincluding the last released.
Justly, the latest installment in the series garners a score of 89 / 100 in the Metacritic critics compilation portal, while it reaches a 8.6/10 in fan reviews. In other words, it achieved the acceptance and recognition of the public and the specialized press.
Among the main features of the game we have that it is a long-lasting title, group combat and open field, various characters with their own stories, etc.
Now, here we tell you our experience with Xenoblade Chronicles 3:
History of Xenoblade Chronicles 3
already with the above Xenoblade Chronicles we had more than interesting stories, those that started from the premise of two peoples facing each other to the death due to political and territorial disputes.
In Xenoblade Chronicles 3 we return to this conflict between the civilizations of Keves and Agnus to know the adventure for the salvation of a world full of dark secrets. In total we have six main characters, who come from the two aforementioned nations and who will have to fight side by side despite their differences. This group is led by Noah and Mio, who have the powers to communicate with dead soldiers.
The plot of the video game, not to go into details, it’s interesting, it always leaves you wanting more and touches on themes like war, death and peace, so jAdult and young players will be able to fully enjoy the history. In addition, it has a lot of content that can be translated into more than 100 hours of games (main missions, secondary missions, errands and more). If you like long games, this is the one for you.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gameplay
We said it lines ago: we are facing a real-time combat title with several characters simultaneously. If you already know other Xenoblade games, the gameplay of the third installment will be very familiar to you, since it maintains the essence of the fighting and adds new options to give it a refresher (for example, we can control the other six playable characters of the team, instead of just managing one).
We also have a series of special attacks (known as ‘arts’) that will be recharged as we attack an enemy with normal blows. To access these we have to press the Y, X, B and A keys on the Joy-Con and we can see its charging time on the screen. The controls aren’t exactly easy to master, but it’s part of the role-playing experience. and we must also highlight the combat strategy.
Thus, both control in the fight and its strategy (with items and potions) make a difference on the battlefield. In terms of gameplay, we are not far from other exponents of the genre such as Fire Emblen, Final Fantasy and others from the Xenoblade saga.
Secondly, if you’re not a fan of the genre, you might be stunned in the first few minutes by the sheer amount of gameplay, controls, and customization options the game has. This genre has a niche audience and is fairly friendly to new fans with its simple tutorials.
Open world and enemies
Aligned to the previous point is the dense open world that it brings with it Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which is full of secondary missions, errands, fights against enemies of all levels and more surprises that we are not going to reveal. It’s also varied, offering overgrown plains, war fields, forests, snow deserts, and more.
And the enemies and other characters? As we mentioned, the main ones are Noah, Mio, Eunie, Taion, Lanz, Sena and others that are revealed throughout history.
On the other hand, the main enemies are the masked queens, characters who rule the lands of Keves and Agnus. We do not know their goals or desires, but we will discover them as the plot unfolds.
The enemies to defeat are not exactly charismatic or interesting, but the main ones like Noah and Mio are. Throughout the game we get to know them and understand their wishes and shortcomings.
graphics and sound
In terms of technical performance, the video game has a remarkable performance. In its version for TV, as a laptop, it plays without problems in terms of performance (we did not find drops in frames).
In temperatures, in portable mode after several minutes of play it heats up slightly, without being a problem.
Although it is true that some open world textures such as stones or trees do not look quite right when we zoom in.
And music? Perhaps one of the strongest points of all Xenoblade Chronicles 3 along with its interesting story, since there are several themes from the soundtrack that will stay in our minds after playing.
The videogame Xenoblade Chronicle 3 is one of the most complete role-playing titles of the year, with great content in terms of story and missions, charismatic characters and optimal performance in its portable and TV modes.
Despite a gameplay that could make those new to the genre dizzyafter a few hours of practice we will get ready to enjoy one of Nintendo’s most powerful games for this 2022.
If you are a fan of the saga and role-playing games, you should give Xenoblade Chronicles 3 a try.
