Ukraine claims to have killed 300 Russian soldiers and taken “more than 20 settlements” during the last day

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have assured this Monday that they have killed 300 Russian soldiers in the framework of the fighting recorded during the last day, a period in which the Ukrainian forces “have managed to expel the enemy from more than 20 settlements”.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has indicated in a message posted on its account on the social network Facebook that “about 52,950” Russian soldiers have died since the start of the war and has also said that 2,168 battle tanks have been destroyed, 1,269 artillery systems, 162 anti-aircraft defense systems and 311 self-propelled and armored multiple rocket launchers.

Thus, he stressed that 243 planes, 213 helicopters, 903 drones, 15 boats, 3,463 vehicles and fuel tanks and 117 pieces of special equipment have also been destroyed, while 216 cruise missiles have been shot down since the start of hostilities, that broke out on February 24 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The Russian enemy suffered the greatest losses during the last day in the direction of Krivoy Rog and Donetsk,” he said. “Hit the occupier. Let’s win together. Our strength is in the truth,” highlighted the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army.

He also pointed out that “during the last day, the Defense Forces have managed to expel the enemy from more than 20 settlements, taking them under total control.” “There are stabilization measures underway,” he detailed, while noting that the Ukrainian Air Force has bombed eight Russian troop positions over the last 24 hours.

“The liberation of settlements from the Russian invaders in the Kharkov and Donetsk regions continues. As previously reported, during their withdrawal, Russian troops quickly abandon their positions and flee to temporarily occupied territory or to Russia,” he explained, before emphasizing that “this trend persists”.

“The enemy is concentrating its efforts on establishing control over the territory of the Donetsk region, holding the temporarily captured territories and altering the offensive of our troops in certain directions. The enemy continues to attack our positions, carry out aerial reconnaissance and try to seize measures to restore the lost positions”, he stressed.
