Save more closed the 2021 financial year with a figure of gross turnover of 1,800 million of euros. The company’s net profit reached 88.5 million euros, compared to 102.4 the previous year.
As for the operating income stood at 116 million euros, while the Ebitda was 165 million euros. The total investment reached 148 million euros, 46 million more than the previous year, destined mostly for new openings and reforms.
At the end of 2021, the company had 277 supermarkets located in two autonomous communities. During 2021 Salvamas opened 12 stores and transformed 18. That year doubled the number of openings compared to 2020 and maintained the number of refurbished stores
The company increased its workforce by 334 people closing 2021 with a total of 12,044 employees. As for growth, it maintains its usual path of around 2%. Savings had a profit of 88 million euros after taxes.
Eusebio Rubio, General Director of Salvamas and recently appointed Chairman of its Board of Directors, pointed out that “these good results are the consequence of the important effort made by the team of Salvamas professionals in a year that, although it has had a more favourable, it has still been marked by the effects of the economic crisis caused by covid-19. Likewise, it is based on our clear commitment to product and service quality, proximity, and specialization in fresh produce. doubt these results must be contextualized in a more favorable context than the current one due to the increase in energy costs and the growth of inflation“. He also highlighted that the company is promoting an important digital transformation process and is committed to sustainability.
Salvamas is one of the leading food distribution chains in the Community of Madrid, where it has 233 stores out of a total of 277 that the company has. The remaining 44 are located in Castilla-La Mancha, in the provinces of Cuenca, Guadalajara, Ciudad Real and Toledo. In total, the Savings establishments occupy an area of 228,676 square meters.
In addition, it has two logistics warehouses located in Mercamadrid and Velilla de San Antonio (Madrid) with a total area of 124,739 square meters.
