Today, the first of the two sessions of the workshop on financial education ‘Finance for Mortals – Educational Justice’ promoted by Banco Santander in collaboration with Penitentiary Institutions (IIPP) and the collaboration of the UCEIF Foundation through the Santander Financial Institute (SANFI), coordinator of the program ‘Finance for Mortals‘ Driven by the bank.
vanessa zufiaurrearea director of the entity in the region, Fernando Lopezfrom the mortgage business area, Jesus Martincommercial director and Alberto Pinelacompany manager, are responsible for imparting this training, which has already been carried out successfully in different Spanish penitentiary centers such as the one in Burgos, picassent (Valencia), Teixeiro (A Coruna), the owner (Cantabria) Madrid I (Alcalá-Meco) or Seville II, among others; some workshops in which nearly 300 inmates have already participated and which will be extended to other centers in the coming months.
The objective is to provide basic financial education for the inclusion of people deprived of their liberty, providing them with sufficient economic-financial knowledge that allows them to make personal and family decisions about their daily finances in a responsible and informed manner. At the end of the workshop, the participants receive a diploma accrediting the training carried out.
