Kingston’s IronKey Keypad 200 USB drive includes hardware encryption and alphanumeric keypad for PIN access

MADRID, Sep. 12 (Portaltic/EP) –

Kingston Digital Europe has announced the unit USB IronKey Keypad 200 which includes technical specifications such as hardware encryption and the alphanumeric keyboard for PIN access.

IronKey Keypad 200 is a storage unit USB3.2 Gen1 that promises a reading speed of up to 145 megabytes (MB) per second and up to 115 MB per second in the case of writing, as stated by the company in a statement sent to Europa Press. Offers encryption by ‘hardware’ XTS-AES 256-bit on an alphanumeric keyboard independent of the operating system.

This memory also has a built-in rechargeable battery, so users can unlock the unit using the keypad for PIN access without the need for software. Likewise, it comes with the multiple PIN option, which allows the use of a separate password for the administrator and another for the user of the device.

After ten failed attempts, memory locks user PIN, which the administrator can restore from their profile to access their data. In the event that you log ten failed administrator attempts, its built-in brute force protection will encrypt the drive, permanently destroying your data and resetting the device.

Against the possible threat of ‘malware’, it has two different read-only modes for the administrator to write-protect this drive via a specific session or globally across all user sessions.

The certification FIPS-140-3 Level 3 they encase the unit in military-grade security, and its circuitry is coated to prevent access to its internal components without damaging them in the event of tampering. For an added level of protection, the keyboard is coated with a protective polymer layer to prevent key fingerprint analysis.

Once unlocked, they can access their data by connecting the drive to any device that supports USB Type-A flash storage, making it a ‘plug and play’ drive suitable for various computing ecosystems.

The Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 offers several storage configurations: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Its price and launch date in Spain are still unknown.
