The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has asked withdraw from sale a batch of popcorn with salt marketed by Día that does not warn on its label that it contains protein from the milkso it warns allergic people of this circumstance.
It’s about the product Snack Maniac Salted Popcornpackaged in a plastic bag, with batch number 22213 and with a best before date of January 31, 2023.
According to the information available, it has been distributed to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid and Valencian Communitywhich have been required to verify the withdrawal of the affected products.
As a precautionary measure, the security agency recommends that those with allergy to milk proteins who may have the aforementioned product in their homes refrain from consuming it.
The consumption of this product does not entail any risk for the rest of the population.
The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has learned through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI) of a notification of health alert transferred by the health authorities of Catalonia.
He explains that the information included is the result of self-monitoring by the manufacturing company itself, which has reported the incident to the competent authorities and its customers, in compliance with the law and in order not to make unsafe food available to the population.
