Corachan expands its digestive area with a new room and two boxes for one million euros

Corachan Clinic continues to strengthen in Barcelona. The digestive system service of the Catalan center has expanded its endoscopy area with a new room and two recovery boxes, as well as useful new technology for colon cancer screening. The investment between work and equipment amounts to one million euros, as explained by Clínica Corachan to PlantaDoce.

Specifically, Corachan Clinic has incorporated two complete Fuji Eluxeo towers from the Fujifilm company, which have an artificial intelligence (AI) system called Cad Eye. This system was originally developed to support real-time detection of colon polyps. In addition, the new area has a negative pressure ventilation system to protect the transmission of infections such as Covid-19 and other respiratory viruses as much as possible.

Likewise, the clinic has renovated and improved the reprocessing room for washing endoscopeswith disinfection and sterilization systems, and also storage, guaranteeing maximum patient safety.

On the other hand, Corachan Clinic has acquired five video gastroscopes and six video colonoscopes, as well as a video endoscope and several washers for instrumental cleaning. Thanks to all this new equipment, it is possible to carry out digestive endoscopy treatments, as well as endoscopic treatments for obesity, such as the implantation of an intragastric balloon or stomach reductions.

This latest commitment by Clínica Corahan comes after the company launched on March 1 Corachan Sarriaa new center located at the confluence of Avenida de Sarrià and Calle Numancia in Barcelona, ​​a two-minute walk from the central building.

Corachan Sarrià hosts the integrated preoperative unit, a Synlab clinical analysis laboratory and the Corachan Dental and Maxillofacial unit. In addition, the facility has a patient care point (contact center) with the aim of offering users personalized attention. The new space has an area of 350 square meters and with integrated facilities in the Corachan Campus.

In recent months, Clínica Corachan has also launched a new area of ​​interventional cardiology with a hybrid operating room, with integration of imaging techniques to perform all types of procedures, from minimally invasive to the most complex cardiovascular and interventional radiology.

Corachan Clinic is one of the main private clinics in Catalonia. Founded on May 19, 1921 in its current location by Manuel Corachan, surgeon and teacher, the institution has more than a thousand employees, taking into account collaborators. The group closed 2021 with a turnover of over fifty million euros and expects to reach sixty million euros in 2022.
